MicrosoftHi Dean, the user who initially sets this up need to have access to advanced hunting Manage access to Microsoft Defender XDR with Microsoft Entra global roles - Microsoft Defender XDR | Microsoft Learn. Once published you then delegate permissions to the web based dashboard in PBI.

Noting Jon_Nordstrom that I am having an identical issue. I am using a global admin account and subsequently gave Security Admin, Security Operator and Security Reader for good measure. I can run advanced hunting queriies without issue.
