MVPs shaped Microsoft Build 2025 with their expertise, passion and community leadership, enhancing the event's success.
Microsoft Build 2025 was a showcase of the latest technological advancements for developers. Among the most impactful contributors were our Microsoft Most Valuable Professionals (MVPs), who played a central role in shaping the event’s success and amplifying its reach across the global developer community.
MVPs at Build
This year more than 120 MVPs and Regional Directors (RDs) joined us in Seattle, almost 20% were first-year MVPs, and 60% were from outside of the United States, bringing with them diverse, global perspectives.
Before Microsoft Build, MVPs had the opportunity to offer valuable input on products and services during NDA-protected MVP Summit sessions in March, actively shaping the technologies they would later see unveiled.
Onsite, MVPs were everywhere, actively staffing across every aspect of the event. From proctoring the Microsoft Build Challenge at Microsoft Learn’s on-demand area to emceeing Theater stages, MVPs provided a natural, authentic voice for Build’s developer audience.
MVPs spoke in 7 demo sessions and 17 Community sessions, staffed 47 Expert Meetup booths alongside Microsoft product leaders, proctored 17 labs, and supported new initiatives like the launch of the Agent Creator Community and the Open Hack experience as coaches. Their deep technical expertise and community leadership helped bridge the gap between Microsoft’s announcements and real-world applications.
MVPs: An authentic voice for a Developer conference
MVPs didn’t just show up, they helped shaped the experience. They participated in pre-event AI Agents session previews, offering feedback that refined session content and ensured cohesion across Build’s AI Agents narrative. Their insights helped Microsoft teams prioritize what mattered most to developers and tell a unified story to support clarity and understanding of Microsoft’s many new AI Agents offerings.
In the lead-up to Microsoft Build, MVPs also contributed to the blog “MVP’s Recommended Microsoft Build 2025 Sessions,” guiding attendees toward the most impactful sessions and sharing personal perspectives on why they mattered. Onsite, MVPs helped attendees navigate the session catalog and identify must-see sessions roundtable Table Talk, New to Microsoft Build? Get help planning your agenda.
Community, Connection, and Celebration
MVP Connect: The Sunday before Build we hosted MVP Connect, an in-person gathering that brought together 100 MVPs, Microsoft Cloud Advocates, Microsoft Build speakers, and Microsoft product leaders for networking and celebration. First-year MVPs were welcomed into the fold, while long-time contributors shared inspiring stories. Attendees were treated to beautiful views of Seattle, tasty bites and fresh sips.
Priority Seating: Special event seats were allocated for MVPs and RDs for the Day 1 Opening Keynote and Day 2 "Unpacking the Tech" keynote. This enabled community members to skip the general attendee line and get front-row seating for key announcements from Microsoft’s executives, including Satya Nadella, Kevin Scott, Scott Guthrie, Charles Lamanna, and Jay Parikh.
Build Celebration: On Wednesday evening Build attendees enjoyed a special event at Lumen Field that included food, music and fun!
Looking Ahead
As we reflect on Microsoft Build 2025, one thing is clear: MVPs are not just attendees; they are integral to the experience. Their passion, expertise, and commitment to community elevate every interaction and help Microsoft deliver on its mission to empower every person and organization on the planet to achieve more.
To all the MVPs who contributed to Microsoft Build 2025 -- thank you. Your impact is immense, and your partnership is invaluable.
