We are excited to share that the cards which have been configured to the Viva Connections dashboard, are now also automatically exposed in the SharePoint agents, based on user input and messages.
When users ask questions from the SharePoint agents, Copilot checks if your Viva Connections dashboard has a matching card for the requested details. Cards are automatically rendered in the SharePoint agent panel for users to perform needed actions.
Cards are fully operational in the Copilot panel and the user can perform actions in similar ways as in the Viva Connections dashboard. If the card contains a quick view, that will be also rendered inline in the Copilot panel for users to access the requested information and actions.
This feature is currently in preview, and we are collecting feedback from the customers on its usage. Please provide feedback, or report concerns to Microsoft by selecting the “thumbs up” or “thumbs down” icon that appear within the summary results. This feedback is directed at Microsoft for review and consideration.
The features and capabilities mentioned in this blog post are demonstrated in the following video with Luca Bandinelli (Microsoft) and Vesa Juvonen (Microsoft).
Frequently asked questions
When will this happen?
The feature has rolled out to Targeted Release customers and will continue to roll out to all customers through the end of June. The feature is planned to move into general availability status between June and August 2025.
This message is associated with Microsoft Roadmap ID 412621.
Do I need to configure Viva Connections for this?
Yes. This feature is end user context aware and is checking which cards have been configured for the particular user in the Viva Connections dashboard. If Viva Connections dashboard is not configured, cards will not show up for end users.
Are all card types supported?
Yes. All cards from Microsoft and custom card types are supported. This includes also Card Designer cards and custom cards build with SharePoint Framework. There are no update requirements on the existing cards, so the rollout is automatic and based on the Viva Connections deployment.
What do you need to prepare?
There is nothing you need to do to prepare, but you can let your users know about this new experience if you have deployed Viva Connections.
What is next?
We are in progress of building a new dashboard web part experience which will enable cards to be exposed in any site at SharePoint. You can unique dashboard experiences for each site based on your requirements. Currently this is only limited on the home site and dashboard is the same as within Viva Connections.
