Planner Premium + Power Automate
Not sure if others have experienced this as well, but I am having trouble accessing my planner premium plans in power automate. I’ve come to learn that the Planner actions in power automate do not support planner premium. Instead, the Microsoft Project actions, which are far less useful, support Planner Premium. I was really hoping to use planner premium and power automate together, and so far am deeply disappointed - especially after having waited for my companies admin approval for the tool. Anybody have an workarounds?4.2KViews7likes9Commentsimporting excel into planner
It seems as though one can use power automate to import excel tasks into Planner. I used Copilot to create the automation. Upon testing it notes the test is valid. However, nothing happens in Planner. What am I doing wrong? This doesn't seem like it should be complicated.10KViews2likes3CommentsMS Planner: Ability to assign sub-tasks?
Hi there, We are using Planner and was hoping to find a way to assign sub-tasks within a task to specific team members. This way, we don't need to track dozens of tasks for one project. We are also not interested in created a Planner for each project, because some projects may only be 1-3 tasks that need to be worked on by multiple team members. We are using the checklist feature and assigning multiple people to a task, manually typing their name in the checklist - but this is not a great tool, as it leaves room for a lot of human error, unable to assign deadlines for checklist items, and we can't @ team members in the comments in a task. Is this possible or at least in the pipeline for Planner? Other project mgmt tools offer this, so I can't find a reason why Planner would skip this entirely. I am hoping I am just missing something.30KViews16likes10Comments% Complete - doesn't seem to calculate properly, what am I missing?
I am fiddling with Project for the Web / Premium Planner in an attempt to make YouTube tutorial content. I'm creating tasks, trying to make some sample content, and setting the completed/remaining hours to be partially done to simulate an in-progress project. What I'm noticing is that the %Complete tries to auto-update, but seems to be calculating really oddly? Like it's coming out with 6% complete for 1 hr completed + 1 hr remaining = 2 hr total. Am I misinterpreting what it's trying to do or is it not functioning? When I try to manually set the %Complete to 50% to override, it changes out the hours to be very different and it still doesn't come out right.274Views3likes2CommentsPlan marked as deleted, when I did not delete it
Hi! I just went to open a plan of mine that I use quite often, to see the message shown in the screenshot below: This plan has been deleted. At the top of the screen, I see "We couldn't load your plan. Please try again later," with the following info: Correlation Id: 9b1ad5a0-b760-4517-88f2-55c51d1d5bd1 Time Stamp: 2025-06-03T14:35:07.183Z Im worried that it's not just a bug that will get fixed with me trying again later, but actually that the plan was deleted. Is there any way to recover a deleted plan? These are the only buttons I see in Planner and none to a trash bin or something of the sort. I don't even know how a plan could be deleted since that is not even an option when the three dots next to a plan is clicked: Has anyone experienced this?10Views0likes0CommentsPersonal Planner: Only Bucket View?
I use my Personal Planner to keep track of everything I have to do. I always use it in list/grid view sorted by due date, with only those Not Started or In Progress visible. However, Grid view is gone this morning. Bucket view is my only option, even though there aren't any buckets in this list. Instead of a condensed list that's easy to see with everything I have to get done today, I'm scrolling through an out-of-order list trying to find everything on my own or filtering by due date is "This Week", but it's still out of order. None of the items in this planner are listed in "My Tasks" or "My Day". There's no ability to assign them to myself, since they did that by default. I can't rename the bucket or move any of the items to another bucket or to my "to do" list. How do I get back the condensed view, so this list is manageable without redoing the entire list somewhere else? I keep everything here from the steps to do our annual database clean up to our annual grade promotions. It's a an entire year of tasks. This is the only Plan having this issue, but it's the most important and it's making getting stuff done today so much more complicated.61Views1like2CommentsFilter with subtask
Hi, I'm using Planner premium with multiple taks and subtask. I have custom columns with value that are entered only in the main task. I was wondering if there is a way to include all subtask when the filtered value is true for the main task to show all related subtask? Regards,11Views0likes0CommentsPremium Features - where?
Greetings all I have a Planner Plan 1 licence but can't see the premium features. (Gannt etc...) There is no diamond to convert a plan and all the templates I have listed when I create a new plan are "basic" despite the list heading saying "Basic and Premium". Any advice appreciated. New planner doesn't show a "schedule" view of tasks assigned to me from different plans
The new version of web-based Planner was enabled for me a few days ago, on November 17th. Apparently, I realized that one of the features I used is missing. At the "My Tasks" view, in the old version of Planner, one could choose to have different views, apart from the grid view. The most useful one for me was the "schedule" view, since I could see in one calendar, all assigned tasks from different plans/teams/projects. This functionality now seems to have been removed, and one can only see one separate schedule per plan.708Views6likes5CommentsNew Planner stuck in dark mode and can't change per-plan backgrounds
Was changed to the new Planner today. I can't figure out how to get it back to light mode. Used to be able to change it in the webapp, but I can't see a feature for it. Also, each plan used to have its own background. That feature seems to have disappeared as well.4.2KViews1like21CommentsOrganisation Executive view of project plans and progress
Within my organisation, we have up to 20+ projects in various stages of their lifecycle going at any one time. Each project has activities relevant to specific departments within the organisation and each department has many team members that will be assigned tasks across multiple projects. Each department exists as a 'team' within teams. Each department manager is responsible for assigning the work for their staff and meeting KPIs but not every staff member is involved in every project. Basically, each department has their own project/planner relevant to their specific work activity which they assign out to their staff, but no single department owns the entire project (they are responsible for components of the project). I need an organisation view of all ongoing projects, and the ability to see the task activity (i.e. workload and deadlines) for each department relevant to each project and the entire organisation. Can planner be set up so that detailed plans can exist within overarching project plans? Or can plans in planner be set up such that tasks with the plan can be assigned to a bucket and buckets within the plan assigned to teams (i.e. departments rather than assigned to individual users) where the department manager can assign the tasks to their staff. The objective of this approach is to have staff allocated tasks through planner (ToDo) and the completion of their individual task feed back into the departments overall assigned activities, and ultimately back up to the project, and overall executive summary of all organisation projects.177Views1like5CommentsResource Management with Planner
I as team leader must send members of my team to task forces. In order to see which team member I can choose for the task force I need to be able see quickly who has the least tasks in one or more projects. This means that I need to be able to make a plan where I see all the todos my team members are working on wihtin their respective plans. A master plan if you will that connects all plans of the respective members into one plan that is called resource management. Is that possible with MS Planner? Which Version do I need for that (Planner 1,3,5)? How does that work? Thank you!747Views1like4CommentsSend Email to Create a Planner task
Hi, We're new to Flow but would like to know if it's possible to send an email to a certain address that will create this as a task in Planner? We would like to CC the person who we want this assigning to and the email content to become the description. Note: We want to avoid creating planner tasks from flagged emails. Is this possible? Any help would be greatly appreciated.56KViews0likes8CommentsInsert a table into the Planner task description through Power Automate
Hi, I've been trying to understand how you can insert a table in the Planner task description through Power Automate. I can see that you can create a table in Microsoft Word then paste this into the Planner task description as shown below but I'm getting no luck in trying to re-create this through Power Automate (update task details). I've tried to use the get task details for this task and it shows a string of "| Location | |\r\n| --- | --- |\r\n| Name | |\r\n| Contact Number | |\r\n| Email | |\r\n| Reason for request | |\r\n| Actions required | |\r\n| Initially Assignees | |" then when I try to use this as a template for the action Update task details, it produces this as a string rather than a table. I've also used the Graph API to get the task details but it shows exactly the same as the string already mentioned. I'd be really grateful if anyone could help!551Views1like1CommentAutomated task creation in Premium plan
Hi, I'm wondering if it's possible to automatically create a Planner Premium task from a Teams post. I've spent a day trying to bottom this out, and I've had no luck. I tried using PowerAutomate with the Dataverse connector, but it seems like adding a new row to the Project Tasks table in Dataverse is not a supported way to create new tasks. If this is supported, is there documentation on how to do this? This is a very simple process in Basic plans - doesn't make sense that it's so hard to do this in a product I'm paying for!Solved4.2KViews7likes8CommentsPlanner Comments Notifications Resolved
Just created what i believe is a highly effective method to ensure Planner Comment Notifications work seamlessly. We're all familiar with the challenge of comments getting overlooked, especially when staff members haven't previously engaged with a particular task. My new Power Automate solution addresses this issue by sending emails (or you can switch to Teams if preferred) to everyone assigned to a task whenever a comment is posted. The email includes the comment itself and a link to the corresponding task. To adhere to best practices, I created the automation in my user account but set it up to automatically send from an admin@ account. This step isn't mandatory but is recommended, especially if you anticipate commenting on numerous tasks yourself as the automation "owner". I've uploaded a brief 20-second video demonstrating the functionality. I'd appreciate likes and comments, and I'm more than willing to share the solution. This automation is part of a larger course/solution package I'm developing. Other upcoming features include automatic assignment of unique project codes (you can catch a glimpse of it in the video), auto-assignment of staff based on labels (for instance, if your yellow label is labeled Marketing, it automatically assigns everyone in marketing when used), and more. I'm eager to hear your thoughts on the comment notification solution; I believe it's one of the most visually appealing solutions available. If want to access the comment notification just @mention me in the comments below.9.3KViews5likes39CommentsNew Premium planner plans not showing up in PowerAutomate
Hello all, I'm currently experimenting with the trial version of the new premium planner. When I want to create a flow in PowerAutomate and use the "Create task (preview)" operation, or any other planner operation, my premium plans are not showing up in the list, only the basic plans. Are new premium plans not yet integrated with PowerAutomate, or is there another issue?2.2KViews5likes3CommentsNew Microsoft Planner Premium recover deletet bucket?
Hi! We got O365 in a business enviroment, and implemented Planner Premium now in 2025. This morning some kind of a bug happened and a user got several error messages. unfortunatly he didnt take a screenshot. The result was that a bucket, with its tasks, got deleted. ctrl+z didnt work. Is there any way of restoring it nowadays? Surely in a business enviroment setup there is some kind of version history? brgds, Henrik22Views0likes0Comments
