I am trying to use excel online to keep track of points (people are sorted into different houses, points will be tracked, Hogwarts style). I have set up excel online to have conditional formatting so that based on name or house name, the row will turn the color of the house. Is there a way to sum the points based on the background color to keep track of points? So that in the below sheet, red/yellow/blue point cells can be summed? When I've tried to look up solutions online, Name formatting comes up, but there is not that option on excel online. I'd also like to know if it is possible to format cell based on previous cell. I'd like to link names to the house they are in. So that when "Madeline Spencer" is typed in Resident column, "Tower Grove Park House" appears in House column.554Views0likes3CommentsFormula needed to retrieve % of correct reviews for an employee, where reviews are on separate tabs.
Hello everyone! Thank you in advance for any assistance you are able to offer. I'm working in MS 365 for web on a windows cloud environment through a Citrix network. Looking for a formula that will populate one employee's evaluation results as a % correct for each of multiple worksheet tables of reviewed items (pass/fail). See attached workbook for details on what I'm trying to do. I would like to be able to choose an employee's name from a drop down on the RESULTS tab, select the months to begin and end a date range and have this return the total reviews and number failed for each 'Review Name' for that employee. Thanks again! :)174Views0likes11CommentsUnable to open an excel sheet in my browser due to unsupported features
Hi All, This pop up has been appearing recently on my Excel Sheets which is an issue because I collaborate with people who do not have access to the desktop app: I've checked the What-If Analysis section and found these scenarios automatically created by "Village Software" who I've never heard of :( Removing them does nothing as it re-adds itself.718Views0likes1Commentworkbook and sheet name via formula
I have a standard header I put on almost every excel workbook I create I have been using for years. It includes several standard items, including Workbook name and Worksheet name, which are extracted via CELL("Filename",A1) formula. For Excel workbooks that are being viewed in Excel Online, however, whether through onedrive, sharepoint, or whatever, this formula yields a #VALUE! error. When I open in desktop, it renders fine, just not when looking at browser window. Is there an alternative that I can use to display current workbook and worksheet names via a formula in a cell that is compatible with Excel Online?Solved330KViews1like63CommentsFormatting a table based on todays date
I created a table that contains information the next time employees are eligible to order uniforms based on their start date. I want the spreadsheet to highlight the row for each employee based on "today's" date. I add funds to their accounts, which allows the employee to order their uniforms when they are ready for new ones. I created a table that includes conditional formatting. Now I use "Format only cells that contain". I am using TODAY() date as the criteria. I want the formula to select the entire row. Right now, it only selects the cell. I would also like for the table to email or notify me daily who is eligible. Is this question more of a VBA than conditional formatting?Solved48Views0likes4CommentsNo access to group/ungroup dates in Pivot Table filter. Jan-24 and Jan-25 show as Jan only.
I'm trying to follow instructions I found for grouping/ungrouping dates on a Pivot Table filter. Using 365 (desktop app and web based housed on Sharepoint Cloud) The dates on my column are formatted as Date='Mar-12', so when I type in Jan25, it converts to 1/25/2025 but displays Jan-25. The day of the week doesn't matter, just Month and Year. Adding that column to the Pivot table as filter, shows... <12/1/23 Jan Feb Mar Apr May Jun Jul Aug Sep Oct Nov Dec >3/2/2025 I have data for Jan-24 and Jan-25, but they are lumped together.
