best practices
966 TopicsCopy time and users name when copy paste conversation.
As far as I can se this was removed due to the fact that some people copy paste code directly into production system where time and usernames caused problems. However in the normal world it not to uncommon to quote, even between organisations or even mail. And then you REALLY REALLY need to have time and user name. This was also what was default until recently, and currently everyone is sending screenshots, something that ofcourse is not a good solution. In order to make everyone happy, make an option in settings to not copy username/time and make it unset as default, those who need it will find it for sure, the rest will get the expected "what you mark is what you copy" behavior.25Views0likes1CommentHow to see late turn in info AFTER returning student work
As the title says. I recently returned some assignments and after doing so cannot now find out the turn in information anymore. It was really helpful to have a record of who turned in late but the insights wasn't giving me a summary of the student scores but did tell me how late the assignments were(It would not even tell me if they were late, everything just marked as returned). After returning them I get the scores but not how late they were. Is there a way to see both or should I just not return assignments?8Views0likes0CommentsWhere do I find the messages I sent through "Share to Outlook from Teams"
On 3/20 I forwarded a chat message to several people using the "Share to Outlook from Teams" feature available in the horizontal ellipse menu for that message. Today I was going through my notes and realized I never received a response from the person the message was directed to so I looked in my Outlook Sent box for the message to follow up on it. It was not there. Even more confusing, there is no indication in Teams that the message was sent. Embarrassingly I had to ask one of the "Cc" recipients to forward it back to me so I could follow up with the "To" person I needed to. This confirms the message did go out. Just to make sure this wasn't a one-time thing my buddy used the "Share to Outlook from Teams" feature on a Teams conversation we had. I received his email, and just like me he had no trace the message was sent. Where do you go to find your messages sent through the "Share to Outlook from Teams" feature?2.6KViews4likes1CommentManage Rental Device in a Team (Channel)
Hello, I am new in MS Teams. I want to have a Team with a Channel with about 5 users. I want to manage a Rental Device in this Channel, where everyone of the 5 users can book the Rental Device for certain days. What is the easiest/simpliest way to achive this? I tried with a channel calender, but this is not available on the mobile device... Br, Johannes16Views0likes0CommentsOne Teams license, but 2 email addresses
I have a client who as the title suggests, has a Teams license. Their 365 licenses are tied to an '@yyynz.onmicrosoft.com' address for licensing. Reason? The account is historically linked to Azure and up until recently they were an independently owned subsidiary of a global player. Therefore they've had their own separate independent subscriptions for 365 and other services. This is set to change as the independent has merged with the global parent. Change is underway, but it's a slow process. Using the '@yyynz.onmicrosoft.com' has not been an issue up until now. They've been using the global yyy.com email address for nearly 20 years outside of the Microsoft realm. With the advent of Teams the incumbent account name makes life difficult. Invites are being sent to their '@yyy.com' addresses, which in turn trips up over accessing Teams which is registered to the '@yyynz.onmicrosoft.com' account. Question I'm trying to get to is, does the client need to invest in additional Teams licenses to accommodate the '@yyy.com' address? or, and this is the 2nd question, if not, how do I configure Teams to use both? Bear in mind I cannot accommodate the domain 'yyy.com' in this tenancy as it belongs to the tenancy operated by the global entity. And they're not ready to accommodate these users as yet. One Teams, two email addresses? Paul15Views0likes0CommentsOngoing agenda and action items for Meetings
I like the Agenda and Action items built into Teams but dislike that each meeting is an island (now in Loop). What are some best practices on how to have continuity across a set of meetings, whether using those widgets or not? Do you just do it external to Teams? Sometimes these meetings are in a series but often get moved. Currently we create the meetings just in Outlook, not in a Channel. I have heard mixed success of it being in a channel.618Views4likes3CommentsTeams screen sharing made easy across multiple users
A feature many can benefit from at the enterprise level is allowing multiple people to share screens and then allow the viewers to easily see what screen is selected. 1 person can drive and switch screens but when it switches its the user who's screen is sharing at that time. The issue we encounter is with our Scrum teams and Scrum Masters driving the screen but then we have product owners who regularly run the meetings as well. It is a pain to keep waiting for screens to stop sharing and the other person connecting. It takes time every time so we end up having 1 person drive the whole time but then our flow is a bit more choppy. I think about this as being in person and 1 person standing up to present and the other person having a comment or wanting to write something on the board or show something they can just get up and do it. I see this working in Teams virtually when multiple people are collaborating and have different tools they are using. Some on our calls are using Salesforce, Rally, SNOW, excel, power point, etc and trying to show all across multiple people who own each of those documents is a pain.Solved93KViews23likes15CommentsBulk deploy the Teams auto start setting
In the blog post announcing the release of the TeamsBootstrapper.exe utility for deploying the New Teams client for Windows, it references an upcoming "auto start support" feature where the utility could be used to configure Teams to automatically launch when new users sign in for the first time. It's been over a year and there has been no update on this. I posted a comment on the blog post last week but there has been no response. Has this new feature been abandoned? Is there another supported way to do this? (Can I just mount C:\Users\Default\NTUSER.DAT and throw a value in Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce pointing to C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\MSTeams_25072.1609.3541.7814_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\ms-teams.exe ?)169Views0likes0CommentsGrouping chats and channels is no longer possible
Grouping chats and channels is no longer possible The option to switch to Preview mode is no longer available in the About menu. So, is this now some kind of final version and the Public Preview has ended? Can anyone confirm? The old interface feels dull after getting used to the new grouping feature — or is it still possible to activate it from some other menu?137Views0likes2Comments
