Hello, I'm experiencing an issue with a SharePoint list containing approximately 300 items. Each item includes 5 People Picker (PP) fields. In Microsoft Edge, some of these People Picker fields do not display their values correctly—this happens regardless of whether I'm viewing the list in list view, item view, or while editing an item. However, the values are stored correctly, and everything displays as expected when using Google Chrome. There is some JSON formatting applied to the list, but the issue persists even in new views without any custom formatting. The behavior is inconsistent: sometimes an entire row of People Picker fields is empty, and other times only one or two fields are missing. This issue affects multiple users. Here are the relevant environment details: OS: Windows 11 Enterprise Version: 23H2 Build: 22631.5335 Experience Pack: 1000.22700.1081.0 Microsoft Edge: Version 137.0.3296.62 (Official Build) Stable + Beta Channel (64-bit) SharePoint Online (E5 License) Has anyone encountered this issue or found a workaround? Thanks in advance! wit4r723Views0likes3CommentsTitle field in Lists - cannot make the field required
My organization has been using Lists for its time tracking & workplan for a few years. Previously the Title field was required by default when a new list was created. Recently when creating a new list (from an existing list on which the title was a required field), I noticed that the title field is no longer required. There is no option to edit the column to make the title required. Is there any workaround or JSON code that I can use to make this field required for my users? Thank you.9Views0likes0CommentsAllow Non-Owner Members to Share Edit Privileges with their own List & Libraries
I manage a SharePoint site where we want members to access only content they need access to. Each member is assigned to a portal based on their location in Entra ID. To allow users to work together on projects we need user to be able to share document libraries and list with edit rights. Right now users can share their own created list and libraries, but the invited users only have read permissions. Is their anyway to set it to where they can also have edit permissions. We don't every user to be a an owner of portal sites.19Views0likes1CommentUnexpected Thumbnail Behavior in SharePoint News Pages
Hello everyone, I'm encountering an issue with SharePoint News where the thumbnail image is not behaving as expected. When I manually select a thumbnail image for a news post, it appears correctly at first. However, as soon as I click the "Edit" button to modify the post, SharePoint automatically replaces the thumbnail with the first image found in the body of the article—without any action or confirmation from me. This behavior is problematic because it overrides the intended visual identity of the post and creates inconsistency in how content is presented across our site. The selected thumbnail should remain unchanged unless explicitly updated by the user. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Is there a known workaround or setting that can prevent SharePoint from auto-updating the thumbnail on edit? Thanks in advance for your help! Out of no where, when I go to create a list from an existing list, only 10 of 60 existing sites show up as options to copy. Is anyone else running into this issue? There is zero explanation for this issue, as this is something we do weekly.7.1KViews0likes5CommentsLog to show library deletion
Hello all! I'm having an issue find a library in SharePoint Online. I have access to an admin account in SharePoint and have tried looking in audit logs and in the recycling bin to try and find what has happened to the library but it has seemed to have vanished somehow. The audit log shows the changes that were made to folders and files within the library as of last month, but the audit log does not appear to show if/when a whole library is deleted (tested by deleting a test library). The library itself is completely MIA. Does anyone know of logs or a way to track what has happened to a library if it does not show up in Site Contents, Recycling Bin, or Audit Log Reports within the Site Collection Administration in Site Settings? Any insight is greatly appreciated!2Views0likes0CommentsDate format needs to be DD/MM/YYYY
Hi When you create a new date column in SharePoint, the default format is MM/DD/YYYY. However, I live in a country where we use DD/MM/YYYY, and changing in the default format into that is not approved by SharePoint - look at the screendump.183KViews2likes19CommentsDeleting old rows from a SharePoint list
Hi, I am using a SharePoint site as a database for a desk booking system. The data is held in SharePoint lists. I want to delete old data, i.e. items older that 1 month Is there an easy way to do this?, the list contains thousands of records from the past 4 years. Thank you for your time, Ollie44Views0likes1CommentHow do other industries use SharePoint as a capability directory?
I’m currently exploring how SharePoint can be leveraged as a capability directory across different industries. In my organization, we’re considering using it to help staff identify which teams or departments are responsible for specific services, especially when a case needs to be referred internally (e.g., from contact center to branch or escalation teams). I’d love to hear from others: How is your company using SharePoint as a capability or service directory? Are there any templates or design best practices you would recommend? Have you faced any challenges in adoption or maintenance? Any insights or screenshots (with sensitive info removed, of course!) would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance! cheers WC25Views0likes1CommentPerson column value changes after saving
We have a List in our SharePoint with columns for selecting people within our company. A weird thing we found is that, if we select a guy named Anmol, and once we save it, a different name ends up being selected. See gif below. Anmol and Amitjot are different people with the same last name (which I thought I should blur out). I can't find Amitjot in our Azure AD, not even in the deleted user list. This only happens to this Anmol guy as far as we know. I created a new List with a person column to test, which did not have this problem. We mainly use a Power Apps form to populate this List, which also has this problem. Normally, whenever I select a person, it will save to the List, but in the gif when I selected Anmol, it did not save, so I changed the description slightly to trigger the save.69Views0likes3Comments
